On September 15, Consul General Guo Shaochun attended the event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, jointly hosted by the Chinese communities in Southern California. Nearly 800 people attended the celebration. 
Consul General Guo reviewed the great achievements made during the past 75 years since the founding of New China and introduced the essence of the 20th CPC Central Committee's Third Plenary Session. He commended on the contributions made by the Chinese communities in Southern California in enhancing the friendship between the Chinese and American people and promoting cooperation and exchanges in various fields between the two countries. He extended holiday greetings and best wishes to the overseas Chinese in the consular district. He encouraged them to continue playing a bridge role in promoting the mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between the two peoples. He pledged that the Consulate General will continue providing high quality consular services to the people in the consular district as always.
