On April 30th, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted the “Experience China – Dragon Boat Festival and AAPI Heritage Month Celebration” Open Day Event. Consul General Guo Shaochu and his wife, Madame WangWei; Deputy Consul General Guo Zhiqiang celebrated the festival with over 70 teachers and students from three local high schools in Los Angeles.

Consul General Guo said that great achievements have been made in economy and trade, education, tourism, climate change, public health, etc. through China-U.S. Cooperation. The two countries are highly complementary in terms of natural resources, human capital, markets, capital and technology. It is to the benefit of the two peoples and the world for our two countries to join hands to tackle the various global challenges. Through dialogue and cooperation, we will make a better future for the younger generation. Consul General Guo shared stories of American young people visiting and studying in China. He encouraged the students to join the “50,000 in 5 Years” initiative announced by President Xi Jinping and promote the friendship between the two peoples. 
The diplomats of the Consulate General joined the teachers and students in various Chinese cultural activities such as calligraphy writing, dumpling-making, lantern crafting, fan painting and Chinese tea tasting.
