July 9 marks the founding of the Republic of Southern Sudan. Upon this day, the Government of the People's Republic of China declares its recognition of the Republic of Southern Sudan as well as the establishment of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between the two countries. China stands ready to develop friendly cooperative relations across the board with Southern Sudan on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence.
