On September 28th, Consul General Guo Shaochun attended the Banquet celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, jointly hosted by the Chinese communities in Southern California. Nearly 800 people attended the celebration.

Consul General Guo pointed out that over the past 76 years, the Communist Party of China has led the Chinese people through a remarkable transformation—from standing upright to becoming prosperous and growing in strength, and achieved a historic victory in the largest-scale poverty eradication ever undertaken in human history. President Xi Jinping has put forward the Global Governance Initiative, which will inject strong impetus into global governance system and promote a community with a shared future for mankind. Today, China and the United States share extensive common interests and vast opportunities for cooperation. By adhering to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, the two countries can build a stable, healthy and sustainable relationship. The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles remains dedicated to serving the people, and attaches great importance to the well-being of overseas Chinese in its consular district.

The Overseas Chinese performed a variety of cultural and artistic programs to express their best wishes for their (ancestral) homeland.
