The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles Hosted “Flying Tigers Veterans Meet Giant Pandas” at The San Diego Zoo

On November 8, 2025, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted the “Flying Tigers Veterans Meet Giant Pandas” event at the San Diego Zoo. Consul General Guo Shaochun and his wife Mme. Wang Wei, attended the event along with about 40 participants including Flying Tigers veteran Mr. McMullen, members of the American Volunteer Group Flying Tigers Association, and their families.

Consul General Guo noted that the Flying Tigers veterans and their families, as well as the giant pandas symbolize the enduring friendship between the Chinese and American peoples. He stressed that cooperation should be the eternal theme pursued by the two countries, and that China and the U.S. should be partners and friends. This is what history has taught and what reality needs. The two countries are fully capable of helping each other succeed and prospering together for the good of the whole world. The two peoples share an enduring commitment to peace and justice, as well as a common aspiration for a better life. The Consulate stands ready to work with all friends to turn the important consensus reached by the two heads of state into concrete actions and further strengthen the friendship between our two peoples.

Guests expressed deep affection for the giant pandas and reaffirmed their commitment to sharing the story of the Flying Tigers, keeping the Flying Tigers spirit alive and vibrant in the new era.
