On November 18, Consul General Guo Shaochun attended a workshop on China-U.S. Economic and Trade Cooperation. The event brought together about 90 Chinese and American business representatives.

Consul General Guo briefed the participants on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Busan meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump, noting that the two heads of state have reached important consensus on strengthening cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, once again recalibrating the direction of China-U.S. relations at a crucial moment. The 20th CPC Central Committee adopted at its fourth plenary session the recommendations for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan, which has drawn a grand blueprint for China’s social and economic development in the coming five years. The Plenary sends a positive signal of adhering to high-quality development and high-level opening up, and provides broad prospects for China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation. Consul General Guo encouraged business communities from both countries to seize the opportunity, deepen cooperation, and contribute to China-U.S. economic and trade relations and friendly exchanges between the two peoples.

The participants were enthused by the 15th Five Year Plan Proposals and reiterated their commitment to enhance China-U.S. economic and trade relations, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and act as bridge and link between the two peoples.
