2026-11-03 15:30

On October 30, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted a “One Trip to China, a Lifelong Bond with China”——U.S. college students’ China experience sharing event. Consul General Guo Shaochun and his wife Madam Wang Wei attended the event, together with 120 faculty members and students from 11 universities in California.

In his remarks, Consul General Guo noted that 2026 is an important year for China-U.S. relations. The two heads of state exchanged visits within six months and reached a series of consensus, charting the course for building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability on the basis of respect, fairness and reciprocity. Building on the “50,000 in five years” initiative, which was completed two and a half years ahead of schedule thanks to joint efforts from both countries, President Xi has invited 100,000 young Americans to visit China for exchange and study in the coming five years, bringing even more young people together to carry our friendship forward. He welcomed young Americans to go to China for exchange and study or explore career opportunities in China, and become storytellers and champions of the new initiative, bridge builders for China-U.S. friendship, and leaders in making the world a better place.

Faculty members and students shared heartfelt China stories and reflections on their visits to China, expressing their willingness to to contribute more to youth exchanges and friendship between China and the United States. The event was filled with warmth, joy, and laughter.
