On April 20, 2023, a reception was held to welcome Consul General (Ambassadorial Rank) of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles Guo Shaochun and his spouse Wang Wei, attended by 600 guests including state, county and municipal officials and people from all walks of life in the consular district.

Consul General Guo pointed out that the China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. China-US relationship is now facing serious difficulties and challenges. However, it is undeniable that the two countries share broad common interests and it is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples for China-US relationship to remain sound and stable. China will follow the blueprint outlined by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, advance the course of Chinese modernization on all fronts and bring new opportunities to the rest of the world, with its certainty and new development. The Consulate General will implement the spirit of the two state leaders’ meeting last November, work with all sectors of the consular district to promote sub-national cooperation and people-to-people exchanges and bring China-US relations back to the right track of sound and steady development.

The guests warmly welcomed Consul General Guo and Madame Wang, spoke highly of the importance of US-China relations and the positive contributions made by the Chinese community to the local economic and social development. They expressed the willingness to deepen cooperation with China, enhance the friendship between the two peoples and advance China-US relations.
