On November 6, 2020, President Xi Jinping sent a sympathy message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the earthquake disaster in Turkey.

Xi Jinping stated in his sympathy message that he was shocked to learn the severe casualties caused by the earthquake, and expressed deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the wounded, on behalf of the Chinese Government and people, as well as in his own name. He also conveyed his wish that Turkish people will overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes as soon as possible.
